Hi, I just lost my job and I got a lump sum payout of my pension. So now I have $150K and I don't know what to do with it. I have to invest in something, as this is a big part of my pension. I'm 44 years old. What would you do in a similar situation?
There's a very nice interview with Rick Rule from a few days ago that sums up nicely the strong bullish case for Uranium (and resonates with my view): https://youtu.be/z4e0Vz0niEE
Go to the 21:45 part of the video for the uranium discussion, but the whole interview is worth your time.
At present, nuclear fission is the densest and cleanest source of energy available to humanity. I believe it's just a matter of time before even the most ignorant politicians realize it's unquestionably the best road to salvation from "manmade climate change" and the solution for the ever-growing energy needs of the world.
When I bought URNM, it was trading at a discount to NAV. Now, it trades at a small premium.
If I am not right in the short term, I will gladly accept the income yield from the covered calls I sold as a consolation reward.
Are you bullish on Uranium too? I would love to hear your opinion!
Great. I don't know enough to have a solid opinion on Uranium. Doomberg is bullish on it so I am guessing its not a bad trade. Will check out the video when I get time!
The Green chicken has been right about many things in the last couple of years. I was tempted to quote him: "Energy is Life" when I first replied to you.
I have always held Energy in my portfolio, mainly Canadian Oil and Gas producers, but reading Doomberg and watching Dr Keefer's Decouple YouTube channel made me realize the enormous potential of Nuclear energy. I don't know enough to go after individual miners, especially juniors, that's why I bought shares of URNM.
Yes I did. In yhe internet retail sector in Europe

Hi Sean,
I am sorry that you lost your job. Hope you bounce back stronger :)
As to your question, it would depend on a lot of factors. You can see the first 4 steps in this excellent article by Graham (https://grahamstephan.substack.com/p/6ways-to-invest)
After which the question becomes whether you should DCA or lump sum invest which is covered beautifully by Nick (https://ofdollarsanddata.com/dollar-cost-averaging-vs-lump-sum/)
Let us know if you have any more questions.
Thanks a lot for this. Very helpful!
Yes.
- DCA on ETFs (S&P/Real Estate)
- Reinvested Dividends
- Picked up some more Amazon & Realty Income
Yes, I opened a long position of Sprott Uranium Miners ETF (URNM).
Nice. Any specific trigger for the Uranium play?
